Flutist and bandleader, composer and arranger, her journey began since she was little.
After the classical flute academic studies, Jazz music and improvisation captured her interest and revealed her creative soul, becoming the core of her musical activity.

Her first album of originals Voci che resistono al vento (Emme Records 2023) won Promozione Progetti Discografici dal Vivo 2022/23 Contest by Nuovo IMAIE and is having many positive feedback.

She's among the 15 winners of Bando AIR 2024 (Italian artists in residence) promoted by Midj, SIAE, MAECI and EJN=> 4 weeks in Prague
She played in theatres, concert halls, museums, philarmonic and natural halls for both classical and jazz festivals.

She’s been taking improvisation lessons with the saxophonist Alan Michael Rosen since 2018 at CDM.

She's been playing flute since she was 8.
Beside the classical music academic studies at Conservatorio, Serena attended the Flute’s annual highly advanced course w/ M° Maurizio Valentini at Accademia Internazionale ICONS Novara, where she also took some chamber music lessons w/ the pianists Irene Veneziano and Alberto Magagni (2011-2013). International masterclasses: A. Oliva, M. Marasco, R. De Reede, T. Roorda, M. Valentini, M. Gatti, B. Kuijken, L. Berendse, g. Schocker, M. Ziegler, R. Winn, N. Mitchell, R. Dick, T. Wye.
She played as principal flute in M. Anzoletti “La fine di Mozart” opera (2011) for Primo Palcoscenico ed., in Sonata Island Festival (2012) and Mondi Sonori (2013). She recorded as principal flute Giuseppe Calvino composition’s Music of the Muse (2014).
VOICE STUDIES
In parallel with the academic studies, she practiced for 5 years vocal technique w/ Elisa Venturin, applying this know- how on flute technique also. She took part to some workshops and courses w/ Sheila Jordan, Francesca Corrias, Diego Caravano (pop choir), Alessandra Limetti (vocal comfort) and at 11° Convegno internazionale di Foniatria e Logopedia by dott. Franco Fussi (Ravenna 2017).

VOCI CHE RESISTONO AL VENTO- (Voices that withstand the wind- female figures of the legends of the Dolomites) - Emme Record Label 2023 played w/ Serena Marchi 5et (among the 4 finalists of Barga Jazz Contest (LU) 2022) and Serena Marchi (Serenismar) Ensemble.Winner of Promozione Progetti Discografici dal Vivo 2022/23 Contest (Nuovo IMAIE), the project has been also presented in Cantiere Tempo art installation by Anna Scalfi and in Convegno Futuro Sereno by Movimento Donne Impresa Trentino.
FLOOP duo co- leader w/ vocalist Damiana Dellantonio: a personal review of some traditional folk songs from Trentino arranged for flutes and voices. Their sound is influenced by jazz, black, bossa nova and classical music and by the employing of 2 loop stations.
EON Quintet: an homage to the music of the American pianist Richie Beirach.
SIDE PROJECTS
She played in Damiana Dellantonio’s EP Plastica (2019); she’s among the vocalists of Adele Pardi’s album PerDido (Barnum for Arts- 2019); she contributed as flutist, vocalist and arranger to Davide Prezzo’s album Da che parte stai? (2018).
Beside the musical project as leader, Serena plays in other ensembles both of jazz, Brazilian, pop music and classical music.
Since 2021 she’s been part of the Lagarina Jazz Festival Team (Rovereto)
She’s been included in the program 2024 of the IV ed. of Presenze/ Assenze, a research project about the presence and absence of feminine figures in the music history of Trentino promoted by some female professors of Conservatorio F.A. Bonporti of Trento.
She played in many jazz festival such as: Casa del Jazz Roma, Val di Fassa Panorama Music Festival, Garda Jazz, Barga Jazz, Vicenza Jazz, Itinerari Jazz, L’Aquila Jazz, Siena Jazz, Nuoro Jazz, Trentino in Jazz, Note al museo- tra musica e arazzi, Rovereto Jazz Festival.
